The evening will feature two complimentary events:
First Half - Presented by Ted Dwyer* - New Thinking: Profitability, Client Service & Risk Management
Law firms that invest into risk management will improve their bottom line, as well as cash flow. In this session, delegates will learn of brand new thinking into the link between financial management and risk in legal practice. Hearing from one of the profession's leading experts in the area, delegates will focus on how effective risk management techniques can lead to higher quality clients, a more profitable practice and a higher level of professional satisfaction.
Second Half - Release of the revised LAW9000 Framework
QL has been working closely with SAI Global on a detailed review of the LAW9000 Framework. This process has involved member firms, SAI Global Auditors as well as input from the Law Society, Law Cover and the Office of the Legal Services Commissioner. The new framework will be available for distribution at the event.
The annotated explanatory document, Understanding LAW 9000 will also be available. This has also been extensively reviewed with special attention being paid to the use of a "plain english" style as much as possible.

Ted Dwyer BA LLB (Syd), MBA (MGSM)
Ted is a specialist advisor, facilitator and educator. He has over 15 years experience in consulting to professional service firms, industry associations and large business-to-business organisations in Australia, Asia, Europe and North America. His business includes helping professional service firms improve the commercial skills of their key professionals, as well as consulting to firms on strategic planning, how to improve profitability, as well as how to reduce the risk of professional negligence.
Prior to establishing his own business, Ted was a solicitor in Sydney, before working in senior management roles in Australia and France. Ted has also lectured to MBA students in France and the UK.
